ixigo, a leading online travel aggregator, has launched a new “Travel Guarantee” feature for train passengers, offering a 3X refund for unconfirmed waitlisted tickets. The service, initially available on the ixigo Trains app, aims to provide travelers with financial protection during peak travel seasons.
The shares of Le Travenues Technology Limited were trading at ₹161.70, up by ₹6.88 or 4.44 per cent on the NSE today at 2:50 pm.
Under the new feature, passengers can opt for “Travel Guarantee” at a nominal additional charge for selected trains and classes. If a ticket remains unconfirmed during chart preparation, travelers receive a comprehensive compensation package: the original ticket fare is credited back to the original payment method, and an additional two times the fare is provided as a travel coupon redeemable on ixigo’s flight, train, or bus booking platforms.
Dinesh Kumar Kotha, CEO of ixigo Trains, highlighted the feature’s significance, emphasizing its role in reducing travel-related anxiety, especially during high-demand periods. The company positions this innovation as a solution to the challenges travelers face with uncertain train bookings.
ixigo, founded in 2007 by Aloke Bajpai and Rajnish Kumar, has over 48 crore Annual Active Users as of Fiscal 2024 and continues to leverage artificial intelligence to enhance travel booking experiences.
