Wall Street today: S&P 500, Nasdaq falls, Dow Jones rises, Fed policy in focus

The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq edged lower while Dow Jones rose on Monday, ahead of the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy decision later this week.

At the opening bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 41.4 points, or 0.10%, to 41,435.17. The S&P 500 fell 10.8 points, or 0.19%, to 5,615.21​, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 110.3 points, or 0.62%, to 17,573.702.
